Patricia Kopatchinskaja

Patricia Kopatchinskaja combines violin repertoire with contemporary music and staged concert forms. Working with living composers is central to her work: she has premiered pieces by Francisco Coll, Luca Francesconi, Michael Hersch and Márton Illés, among others.

As Artistic Partner of the SWR Symphony Orchestra she devises her own programmes. Her stage projects include Dies Irae, Bye Bye Beethoven and Death and the Maiden. In The Peace Project she places music from the Baroque to the present in the context of war and peace.
